Objective:
Design a visually compelling and nostalgic poster for Our Town, a play presented by the SJSU Department of Film, Theatre, and Dance at the Hammer Theatre. The poster should capture the heartwarming and reflective essence of the play, evoking small-town Americana through light, airy, and nostalgic design elements. The goal is to communicate key event details clearly while immersing the viewer in the timeless, sentimental atmosphere of the early 1900s. The design should appeal to both students and the general public, encouraging attendance by emphasizing the play’s themes of appreciating life’s simple moments.

Directed a photoshoot to capture an authentic and intimate connection between the couple, aligning with the overall theme of my poster design. I focused on natural, candid moments that evoked warmth and emotion, ensuring the final images felt genuine and visually compelling.
I guided the couple as they walked down the street hand in hand, encouraging them to move naturally and engage with each other as if they were lost in their own world. I asked them to occasionally glance at each other, share a laugh, or lean in slightly as they walked to create a sense of closeness and spontaneity. The motion added a dynamic storytelling element to the shots, making the final images feel organic and cinematic.
